Clips For A Cure
Dear Friends, I am the national spokesperson for The Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia & Parkinson Foundation.
What is Dystonia?
- While not widely known, dystonia affects an estimated 500,000 people in North America alone- more than muscular dystrophy, Huntington's disease and Lou Gehrig's disease combined.
- Different forms of the disease affect the face, neck, throat, eyelids, arms, legs or torso. This devastating disease can appear in children and adults alike.
Why?
- There is no real answer to this puzzling question.
- There is no definitive test or diagnosis for this disease, nor is there a known cure.
- Dystonia is under-researched. As hundreds of thousands of adults and children suffer from symptoms related to the disease, a large majority of patients never receive a proper prognosis.
- Yet dystonia is not well known by the public or the general medical population.
What is going on?
- Something must be done to build public awareness of the disease and the need for funds for medical research.
- You can help. And we need your help.
- This charitable cause dramatically differs from any other medical cause because this disease is virtually unknown. In order to fight it, dystonia needs to become better known through public awareness.
- Increased public awareness will lead to increased research dollars.
Clips for a Cure was created by two children: Jacob and Carly, lifelong friends affected by dystonia in different ways. One was diagnosed with early-onset childhood dystonia when he was very young, while the other has watched her friend struggle with the disease for the greater part of his life. In an effort to help find a cure, they teamed up to create the Clips for a Cure campaign. Your purchase of this clip takes us one step closer to a cure. Thank you for your support!

Jersey Boy Sets The Stage!
I am kicking off my concert venture in Palm Beach. If you are near Florida, come see me!
- Christian
Here is some info about the event:
Jersey Boy sets the stage, show to sell out! Cabaret opens new theater venue - few tickets left!
The Cultural Trust of the Palm Beaches and Harris Private Bank are proud to kick off our new season on January 19, at 8pm with the 2007 Tony Award winner Christian Hoff from the smash Broadway hit Jersey Boys.
Ticket sales have been brisk and the season launch performance is expected to sell out. The show will be in the new Grand Marquee Theater (500 seats) which will be opened to the public Saturday 1/19 with this show.
Hoff, who won the 2007 Tony Award for this role and is currently starring in the show on Broadway, is the first of a dynamic group of performers that will participate in this collection of events. As founder Tommy DeVito, he opens the Tony-winning Four Seasons musical Jersey Boys nightly on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre. "The show is amazing, we are honored to have Christian on our stage," said Bornia who saw the show as Hoff's guest this past Saturday in New York. Hoff will leave the show for this special one night engagement.
The concert features what the media has dubbed as Hoff's "signature charismatic style" supported by a collection of musicians direct off the Jersey Boys stage. This event launches a new initiative to bring Broadway to Wellington as a part of the programs at The Cultural Campus. "We are excited to offer our patrons access to the top names on Broadway today and usher in a stellar concert series," commented Manuel Bornia, Chief Artistic Officer of the Cultural Trust. The concept behind the series is to produce a showcase of intimate concerts with award winning actors that are currently making Broadway headlines. The series will feature one-night only appearances by the most critically acclaimed artists.
