Des McAnuff Artistic Visionary Award

If you are coming to Jersey Boys this coming Sunday or Tuesday, you will not see me because I will be away. I will be in California to Present director Des McAnuff the first ever Des McAnuff Artistic Visionary Award.

Since reorganizing in 2002 after a nine-year dormancy, the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle meets monthly to discuss the best achievements in San Diego County theater.
Each January, the Critics Circle hosts a lavish awards ceremony at which honors are handed out. The number of categories and winners varies, depending on what types of productions opened that year and what work the critics deemed extraordinary.

I will speak on his contribution to the American Theater through his position as Artistic Director at the La Jolla Playhouse. My two broadwayway shows originated there: The Who's Tommy and Jersey Boys. He has introduced many great plays and musicals including broadway successes and Tony winners at the La Jolla Playhouse. His tenure is complete and he is now moving on to directing position at Stratford, Canada as well as sharpen his craft onstage and onscreen.

I'll be back on Wednesday.

See you at the theater.

Happy Birthday Katie!

I am so happy to be wishing Katie Couric a happy birthday for the second year in a row. This year I will be joined by Michael, Daniel and Bobby for a surprise appearance at Tiffany's here in New York City. We will guest appear along with legends Tony Bennett and Bette Midler. Our friendship has grown this past year as Katie transitioned to CBS and have shared some special times along the way. She is such a fun, intelligent and genuine woman. I wish her the best for a year of growth, blessings and contentment.

What an honor.

Rockers Will Rock Without Me!

Hey friends and fans, I will in fact be in California and cannot perform at the next Rockers On Broadway installment, January 29th at BB Kings.

The concert will still be one not to miss. I hear that Leslie Gore is now signing onto the great list of performers as the event continues to build up steam.

Thanks for supporting this great cause to benefit Broadway Cares and Wingspan Arts. Rock on!
